Frequently Asked Questions
What are neuromodulators?
Neuromodulators are injectable derivatives of Clostridium botulinum which block transmission between peripheral nerve endings and muscle fibers. Botulinum toxin weakens or paralyzes skeletal muscle and is a very safe method for improving lines and wrinkles caused by or exacerbated by muscle contraction. The effects of botulinum toxin are transient; muscular function typically returns to baseline within 3-4 months.
Will it hurt?
Although individual people may have different pain tolerances, we do everything possible to minimize discomfort, including the use of topical and injectable anesthetics, and vibratory anesthesia.

When can I go back to work?
Most people can go back to work the same day as their treatment.

Tara Hook, Physician Associate, is an experienced clinician with over 20 years of healthcare experience. She graduated with a Masters degree in Medicine from St Louis University and obtained her Doctorate of Medical Science in from Rocky Mountain University.
After starting her medical career in St Louis working in orthopedic surgery and family medicine, she moved to Seattle in 2006 and has worked in emergency medicine for nearly two decades. She continues to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the ER, but after becoming certified as an aesthetic injector through AMET, she is now enjoying the relaxing* side of medicine as well.
A self-described perfectionist, Tara looks forward to developing and customizing each treatment plan to suit the individual. Whether utilizing dermal fillers to accent and shape your facial contours, or employing neurotoxin to relax your worry lines and enhance your lips, Tara employs precision and artistry to achieve a perfect balance.
